It was all go on this wet, Monday morning, as the Brackenborough waved goodbye to multiple gold-medal-winning Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey’s newly launched women’s cycling team, Storey Racing. The team – including Dame Sarah – had spent the previous night at the hotel, and duly refreshed, they set off on their first official outing together, doing a press ride and recce of the Tour of the Wolds route in preparation for the forthcoming race in April.
And after a very wet and soggy morning riding the nevertheless beautiful Wolds, the team returned to the Brackenborough to enjoy another of Lincolnshire’s finest treats; the Brackenborough’s “Lovely Lincolnshire” afternoon tea.
Packed full of sweet and savoury treats made using the finest ingredients from suppliers in and around the county; it celebrates everything great about the local area.
To name but a few of the ingredients; the meat is from Wards, we use Lincolnshire Poacher cheese from Dairy Lincs for both the sandwiches and cauliflower mornay, fresh haddock is supplied by Freemans of Grimsby (and has been for over 25 years), potatoes are from Louth Potato Co., spring greens and cauliflower are from local vegetable suppliers, and Lincolnshire haslet….well that speaks for itself! This “shop local” ethos is carried over into all of our other menus too ; using local, fresh and seasonal ingredients ensures the best dining experience possible, and all contributes to our coveted AA rosette rating.
We would like to wish Storey Racing all the very best in their future endeavours – especially the upcoming Tour of the Wolds next month.
The lovely Lincolnshire afternoon tea is available until the end of April, priced at £15.95 per adult, or £9.95 for children under 10. The price also includes tea or coffee.
