It’s been a busy start to the year for our team at the Ashbourne Hotel in North Killingholme, as we’ve been busy renovating and rebranding our restaurant. Now known as the Fork & Spoon, the refurb came hot on the heels of our sister hotel’s refurbishment before Christmas.
The dining area has been softened; neutral carpet, warm woollen fabrics, and newly upholstered chairs. Adorning the walls are some our very own Maintenance Manager (and fine art student) Jason Carlisle’s commissioned artwork. These animal portraits bring a bit of quirky fun to the eatery, along with the vintage bric-a-brac. Andrew Smith, Hotel Director, is delighted with the relaxed atmosphere that has been created: “It has certainly been a busy few weeks, but really well worth it. The team and myself are really pleased with the transformation, and the style helps accentuate the fact that we are an individual, independent establishment.
“We have a lot of corporate guests through the week, but also needed to strike a balance so that it wasn’t too stark or impersonal for all of the leisure-based guests we welcome over the weekends and evenings, too. I think we’ve got it just right.”
And if the décor wasn’t enough to entice you back to have a nosey, then we’re fairly certain the food will! Head Chef John Greenley has done us proud once again, with this season’s menu – lots of British classics with a new twist, all using the freshest, seasonal – and where possible, local – ingredients. We always think people will taste the difference; and feedback so far has confirmed this!
So come along and give us a try; whether it’s a lunch date, evening meal, Sunday lunch with the family, or even one of our renowned afternoon teas…we’re confident we have something for everyone here in the Fork & Spoon.
